Blue Bell
Built in 1971 by Frank Hall Boat Yard in Westerly, Rhode Island, Blue Bell is Hull #4 of the One Design WH15 fleet. She has had five owners in her lifetime and retains her sail number #4 today. Blue Bell has been sailed and raced regularly for 50 years!
In 2008 Nelson White, Jr. retired from sailing after a 20-year career and his wish was that Blue Bell remain an active member of the WH15 fleet. He donated Blue Bell to the WHYCSA and her legacy continues with a whole new generation of aspiring young sailors who wish to experiencing the thrill and intricacies of sailing a WH 15. Special programs such as “Sail 15” are specifically designed for juniors 10+ are coached by an onboard instructor in a group setting.
